Chipotle Fast Food Restaurant distribute as much as $200,000 in cryptocurrencies as part of their new “Buy the Dip” ad campaign.
A Denver, Colorado-based fast food company asked its customers to play a game on its promotional website, where each player gets three tries per day.
Starting Monday, its customers can win $10,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC), $5,000 worth of Ethereum (ETH), $1,250 worth of Solana (SOL), $3,000 worth of Avalanche (AVAX) US and Dogecoin (DOGE) worth $3,000 by Saturday. On Sunday, Chipotle will significantly increase the amount of prizes in honor of National Avocado Day. In total, 650,516 prizes are available in the game.
All Chipotle Rewards members will also be able to get 1 cent guacs or queso blancos on July 31st.
Cryptocurrency prizes will be credited to verified players’ Coinbase accounts.
The ad campaign comes after Chipotle began accepting cryptocurrency payments in early June through Flexa, a digital payment network that automatically converts cryptocurrencies into fiat money. Those who paid with the Flexa-enabled app received a 10% discount for one month.
As reported by Cryptooshala, Chipotle initially dipped its toes into cryptocurrencies with a “Burrito or Bitcoin” promo campaign that took place last March on the occasion of National Burrito Day (a fictitious holiday). The campaign was organized in collaboration with former Ripple CTO Stefan Thomas. Players were asked to guess a six-digit code to win bitcoins worth up to $100,000. Thomas is known to have lost the seed due to his massive bitcoin fortune.
