Coinbase Discontinues Coinbase Pro, Puts all Features Under Main Platform

Major cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase will change the user experience on its platforms and gradually stop the Coinbase Pro service.

Separately, the company launched a redesigned Wallet mobile app that makes it easier for users to access and navigate major decentralized applications (dapps) and provides support for Solana.

The exchange noted that in the coming weeks it will add “Advanced Trade to the Coinbase mobile app, along with other improvements, to make Advanced Trade an upgrade to Coinbase Pro for every client.”

“Advanced Trade offers deeper technical analysis, advanced real-time order books, and TradingView-based charts to help clients research and analyze the cryptocurrency markets before making investment decisions.” – the statement described the Advanced Trade feature.

Wallet update

The cryptocurrency exchange also announced a wallet change via official blog post Wednesday (June 22, 2022). According to Coinbase, the new Wallet mobile app became available on June 22, with more users accessing the app in the coming weeks.


The redesign includes a new dapp browser, default dark mode, and real-time price charts. Users can also explore decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, play-to-earn (P2E) games, and offer additional features to easily move between decentralized applications on different networks.

Coinbase also added support for the Solana network, stating:

“With support for sending, receiving, and storing SOL and SPL tokens, you no longer need multiple wallet apps for your web3 multi-chain activity.”

In addition, the redesigned Coinbase Wallet app helps users better manage their Ethereum and Polygon NFTs. In addition, the DeFi tab on the main screen makes it easy to view balances and deposits on the Ethereum network. Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency exchange has said it plans to support more networks.

The updated app also aims to expand access for billions of people around the world by supporting 25 languages.
