Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has signed an exclusive multi-year non-fungible token (NFT) partnership with crypto exchange Binance. The collaboration aims to introduce football fans to the Web3 ecosystem through global NFT campaigns.
In an announcement sent to Cryptooshala, Binance noted that the agreement involves the creation of a series of NFT collections with Ronaldo. They will be sold exclusively on the Binance NFT platform and the first collection will be released later this year.
Changpeng Zhao, CEO and Founder of Binance, praised Ronaldo’s achievements in football and mentioned that the athlete “overcame sports and became an icon in many industries.” Zhao also said that:
“He has amassed one of the most dedicated fan bases in the world through his authenticity, talent and charitable work.”
Zhao added that the Binance team is happy to provide Ronaldo fans with “exclusive opportunities to interact with Ronaldo” as they own parts of the NFT collections. Meanwhile, the soccer superstar also commented on the upcoming NFT releases, stating that fans will love them for sure. Ronaldo also explained:
“My relationship with fans is very important to me, so the idea of providing an unparalleled experience and access through this NFT platform is something I wanted to be a part of.”
Back in March, Ronaldo was awarded crypto tokens for achievements in sports. The football star was given JUV tokens, the official Juventus football club fan token, for every goal he scored in his career.

Despite the current crypto winter, the CEO of Binance expressed positivity earlier in June. Zhao noted with confidence that this is his third crypto winter and Binance’s second encounter with such a market situation, implying that the team knows how to navigate a bear market. In addition, the CEO of Binance said that they will use this as an opportunity to hire the best talent that is available at this time.
