CryptoPunk Sells for $2.6M as Major NFT Brands’ Floor Prices Rise
CryptoPunk NFT was purchased for 2,500 Ether (ETH), which was worth $2.6 million at the time of purchase. Despite the decline in the overall NFT market, a transaction involving CryptoPunk4464 – monkey-style CryptoPunk – was the largest NFT sale in 30 days.
This sale is also the fourth largest CryptoPunk collection sale of all time in ETH, but only the 15th largest USD transaction due to the recent drop in the price of ETH.

A report from consulting firm Verified Market Research predicts that the NFT market could grow into a $230 billion industry by 2030. As researchers delved deeper into the field, the team estimated the NFT space at $11.3 billion in 2021 and noted that the market is set to grow. at a rate of 33.7% in the next few years.
Looking at the key drivers in this space, the researchers identified the gaming sector as one of the areas that pushed the adoption of NFTs. Noting projects such as Enjin and Axie Infinity, the study acknowledged that games have been a significant contributor to NFT adoption.
Bill Murray’s Biopic Project NFT to Premiere on Coinbase
American actor and comedian Bill Murray has partnered with cryptocurrency exchange NFT platform Coinbase to release a 1,000-piece NFT collection and stressed that it shows tips, memories, and “Murrayisms.”
According to Coinbase, the actor and his son carefully reviewed, edited, and approved every story in the collection. The duo worked with writer John Resig to create context for the stories.
Otherside Metaverse Demo Starts at 4,500 Participants: Highlights
The Otherside Metaverse demo opened July 16 to land owners of the Otherdeed NFT, dubbed the Voyagers. The event was reportedly a success, with many attendees taking to Twitter to express their satisfaction with the experience.
During the demonstration, the Voyagers entered the virtual lobby and then followed the huge Boring Monkey into a colorful portal to the Metaverse of the Other Side. Once the Voyagers reached the biogenic swamp, they moved towards the central stadium, allowing the participants to explore the functionality of their avatars.
Nifty News: Old Navy BAYC shirts, expensive NFT whiskey, Sandbox
Clothing company Old Navy has released a new T-shirt featuring BAYC #7285 that sells for $19.95. While some questioned the move, others were happy to see their beloved NFT collection grow in popularity. Meanwhile, a bottle of 52-year-old whiskey made in Japan is being auctioned as an NFT with a starting price of 62 ETH, or $75,000.
