LimeWire is moving into the Web3 era with the launch of its first NFT collection.
called LimeWire Originalsthe collection will be limited to 10,000 unique avatars and will give owners access to a variety of utilities and perks, including the highest level of LimeWire membership.
LimeWire Originals strengthens the LMWR ecosystem
According to a press release provided by Cryptooshala, Limewire will launch a collection on Ethereum. The 10,000 NFTs will grant their holders access to member-only perks, including early access to high-profile NFT drops on the upcoming LimeWire NFT marketplace, access to live events and parties, as well as LMWR token rewards and exclusive merchandise.
Initial holders will also be eligible for the exclusive issuance of LMWR, a LimeWire ERC-20 utility token, scheduled to launch later in the year. The tokens will be evenly distributed among all 10,000 originals, meaning that each NFT held will increase participation in the giveaway.
In addition to giving away tokens, holders will also receive tickets to every event hosted by LimeWire. Each NFT will receive one free ticket, the company said in a statement. Originals NFT owners will have access to LimeWire merchandise, including exclusive clothing lines and accessories, in a special “Originals Only” category in the store.
“Together with the LMWR token, the LimeWire Originals collection will be the backbone of our ecosystem and is designed to reward holders massively,” said Paul and Julian Zehetmayr, Co-CEOs of LimeWire. “Getting your hands on an original doesn’t just mean owning a unique piece of digital art, these NFTs represent membership in the close-knit and highly exclusive community of dedicated collectors that underpin everything we do here at LimeWire.”
With that in mind, the company has decided to give its earliest backers the chance to get early access to the sale. While options to purchase the collection will be made available in stages, the sale is currently limited to members of the LimeWire Discord channel through a dedicated shopping platform.
As soon as the native NFT marketplace is launched, Originals will become public. The company will be selling its original models for $750 each during the initial launch. Limewire did not disclose pricing information for the community sale.
