Tesla sells most of its bitcoin holdings
During earnings calls on Wednesday Tesla, a leading e-car manufacturer, announced that it has converted 75% of its bitcoin holdings into fiat. According to the company’s second quarter report, it only had about $218 million in crypto at the end of the second quarter. Back in February 2021, Tesla purchased $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin, causing its price to soar to new highs. Shortly thereafter, the e-car maker sold a small portion of its holdings to test Bitcoin’s liquidity. In February of this year, Tesla revealed that it had about $1.99 billion worth of bitcoin at the end of 2021. The flagship cryptocurrency fell 6.13% on the news and is currently trading at $22,509, according to CoinMarketCap.

SEC wants court to strip XRP holders of amici status
US Securities and Exchange Commission went to court revoke the amici curiae status granted to holders of the XRP cryptocurrency. Back in March 2021, a group of XRP holders, led by lawyer John Deaton, filed a motion to intervene in the case. Despite the fact that in October the court rejected their attempt to intervene in the case, they managed to get amici status. This allowed XRP holders to file “friends of the court” briefs. In May, Deaton asked the court to provide an amicus memo regarding the opinions of Patrick B. Doody, an SEC pundit. The Securities and Exchange Commission said that the summary proposed by the movers simply “duplicates” the efforts of the defendants.
Cardano, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu show significant growth
Yesterday, Cardano, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu recorded significant gains, recording a positive 24-hour change of 10.78%, 14.77% and 12.26% respectively. The three cryptocurrencies owe their growth to different factors. As reported by Cryptooshala, Cardano’s Input Output became a new member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Mongolia, which led to a rise in the price of ADA. When it comes to Dogecoin, the meme cryptocurrency is also looking forward to the upcoming release of the Dogecoin Core 1.14.6 update. The update hopes to include important security updates and changes to network efficiency. The Shiba Inu, in turn, is looking forward to growing in an ever-growing community that currently has 1,209,427 owners. SHIB is also considered the largest token holding for the top 100 ETH whales, which now hold $563,163,878 worth of SHIB.
