Blockchain Details

The part that mentions blockchain in the patent is related to the storage of the created character. According to the filing, the characters will use this decentralized ledger technology to store their gene sequences, so the unique combination will be protected from destruction. Although the patent does not mention NFTs, the description of the use of the blockchain hints at the use of one or another similar technology.

However, this is just a patent application and application of the concept is still pending. Some have suggested about the possibility of Xiaomi launching its own metaverse platform with these virtual characters as the main attraction, but there have been no official announcements regarding this. However, if this happens, it won’t be the first time Xiaomi has flirted with the crypto world. In 2018, the brand released its first NFT collection called Crypto Rabbits. Nonetheless project According to local sources, it was abandoned in March due to its low popularity.
